Fellow perfume lovers know me as "minette" on the perfume blogs, where I've had the pleasure to learn so much about perfume over the past few years.

A lifelong love of good perfume (thanks, Mom), a nerdy disposition (thanks, Dad), and the desire to share the cool stuff I've been learning about perfume and scent in general led me to start this site.

My hope is that it will help awaken the "normal" person to the many pleasures of scent.

I look at it this way: If you learn to be more aware of all the smells in your life, you can't help but be more present and, by extension, more alive.

As Scent Signals has evolved, I've discovered a desire to write about more than scent and perfume. So in the future, expect to see articles on beauty, style, grooming and yes, what swims beneath the surface of things.

The surface stuff tends to bore me, so I've always tried to look through it and beneath it. We'll see how that shows up in my writing...
