Could it be that Autumn has finally arrived in Texas? Clearly it paid no heed to the calendar, which called for it nearly a month ago. I wonder where it dawdled before it finally moseyed into town. Never mind. It's here now, and I can feel myself relaxing into it, unfurling inside. Many people respond to Spring that way. I breathe in Autumn and find the same joy.
Here's a poem to celebrate:
Listening
Another year, another Spring!
The fragrance of love arrives.
So dancy, this new light
on the ground, and in the tree.
The one who heals us
lets whatever hurts the soul
dissolve to a listening
intelligence, where what we most
deeply want, union with eternity,
grows up around and inside us now!
- Rumi (as translated by John Moyne and Coleman Barks)
Beautiful poem for a beautiful season. I love Rumi. Autumn only arrived here (central Ky. - the Bluegrass) this past weekend - until then it's been mid to upper 80's. That ain't natural! lol!
On the subject of a previous post - I'm getting ready to add a few drops of patchouli essential oil to a sample of Coromandel. I got absolutely no patch from it, so I thought I'd help it out!

Here in the Great Lakes midwest, we hit leaf color last week...about to hit its full glory. I'll bet if I headed a few hours north, it would be full blast.
It seemed to come late here, too, but I think it won't last long this go 'round, either.
